A Letter From the Georgia Tech Chess Club President

Hello, chess players!

My name is Deepak Aaron and I’m the President of the Georgia Tech Chess Club. We’re new on the Georgia Tech scene and we’re thrilled to invite the Atlanta community to our tournaments.  After a year of trial and error in learning how to efficiently run tournaments, GT Chess is proud to announce that we will be partnering with GCA to offer some Open tournaments, beginning with the 2016 Blitz Championship in early December.

Free parking is available for our tournament, Wi-Fi access can be purchased for $5 for the day, and food is always close by   (this IS a college campus, after all).  In the mood for pizza?  We’re happy to share the code for Papa Johns to receive 50% off the price of a pizza.  Directions for parking and other information can be found at  http://www.gtchess.com/details/.

You can always keep up to date with our events by checking out our website at www.gtchess.com.  Our aim is to promote casual chess by providing a free place to play for the pure fun of it. Over the summer, we meet every Thursday from 7-10pm in the Student Center. If you would like to be added to our distribution list, please email daaron6@gatech.edu.  You’ll be sure to receive updates every time we have an event!

GT Chess would love to help each chess player increase his or her rating and work towards becoming a Grandmaster one day. Please feel free to send us suggestions for improvement by emailing daaron6@gatech.edu!  Hope to see you soon!
