Georgia Represents at USCF Jr. National Tournament in Atlanta

The USCF Jr. National Tournament was held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Atlanta April 25 -27, 2014. Georgia had the highest representation of kids at 301 followed by New York (199) and Michigan (85). A total of about 1,485 K-9 students from 38 states participated in this event. This was both an individual and a team tournament consisting of 7 Rounds of G/120 d5. There were six sections, of which the K8 Under 750 was the largest with 354 players:

  • K8 Under 750
  • Unrated

Notable Georgian finishes were:

K-9 Championship

  • ·         Sanjay Ghatti (8th grade) 5th place (5.5, 2184)
  • ·         Brian Tarhan (7th grade) 10th place (5.0, 2072)
